The idea for Beastlyshirts arose quite spontaneously, as I have always wanted to make a positive contribution to vulnerable animals and endangered species through my art. In my previous work, however, it has been difficult to reconcile the two worlds, art and providing for a good cause. So I thought, why not draw animals that I love, make beautiful unique designs of endangered species and if you buy a product, you support a good cause for the animals.

Finally, the two worlds could be united. Today, 10% of products purchased are donated to carefully selected animal organizations. Right now the donations go to the Danish Dyreværnet which deals with animals in need as well as Polar Bears International Via Skandinavisk Dyrepark as well as Aalborg zoo's Amur tiger and leopard program - also called WildcatsConservationAlliance

 

Unfortunately, the textile industry is one of the worst culprits when it comes to the environment, the animals and our planet. I struggled  for half a year to find a green and sustainable product solutions which I deemed good enough. Unfortunately, I found out that there is just always a big environmental cost, regardless of production of new items.

Therefore, I decided that all my products should consist of high quality recycled textiles and sustainable materials.

 

Recycling is by far the most sustainable choice today, no matter how you look at it. I want my products to have as small a climate footprint as possible, as it has a direct impact on everything around us including ourselves.

I do not compromise the quality of my work and always seek to make them better and more sustainable over time.
