Our materials
Brands have a tendency to throw around the word “sustainable,” so we think it’s important to be transparent in exactly how we use it. Here at Beastlyshirts it’s about making better choices like sourcing more sustainable materials and finding ways to reduce our carbon footprint, reduce uncecessary water waste and chemical use, as well as making sure workers have good working conditions. All these steps are made to secure a better future for our wildlife as well as ourselves. Sustainability comes in a lot of different forms, so we thought we'd show you a little insight into your products journey...
WHICH MATERIALS DO YOU USE?
Textiles
Recycle recycle recycle..

Recycled cotton is textile that is recycled from already existing materials, such as residual materials from other productions or other unusable textiles like clothes, sheets etc.
Recycled polyester is made from used plastic bottles or other excisting plastic products. We believe in recycling, where it is possible to breathe new life to old materials which are not biodegradable and would otherwise become dangerous microplastics in our oceans.

WHO IS THE MANUFACTURERS?
Manufacturers
OUR LOVELY SUPPLIERS..
We have a few suppliers for our different items;
The Standard Recycled Tote Bag which consists of 100% recycled cotton, is from Kantprofil. they make a range of lovely certified and sustainable products. These tote bags come from India, where they are produced & packed with 50% sustainable material before being sent to Denmark. The tote bag scores 33 Green points and the entire production line is traceable. The textile is SA8000 certified, which helps to ensure human rights, general health in the workplace as well as no child labor for the people involved in the production.

WHY BUY RECYCLED AND SUSTAINALE PRODUCTS?

We use recycled materials as much as it is possible in our products.
The reason why we do not use new organic cotton, (which in some cases is cheaper to produce), is due to the fact that the production of organic and new cotton, wastes a lot of water compared to recycled cotton. In addition, workers' conditions are not necessarily guaranteed simply because it is an organic production. While organic is great for a range of things, it sometimes fails to cover other important areas of production.
With the strong certifications in our products, we thereby ensure a chain of responsible production without hazardous chemicals and child labor, all the way to the finished product. In addition, we also believe that upcycling, sustainability and recycling is the new standard which should be adopted by all manufacturers when possible.
